THE STORY / IN POOJA’S WORDS
Just now, i was seeing photos of the main art gallery at Bikaner House on google. The first thing that came into my mind was, is this really true ? Am i actually exhibiting two of my paintings at such a prestigious venue? I, for once, do not have words to put on paper as to how I’m feeling. I know how i landed up here. One gamble after another. I am trying hard, enjoying myself in the process. As of this moment, i am imagining my paintings being displayed in professional lighting, being admired by both known and unknown people. I am imagining myself standing there explaining what i have made and why have i made it. I remember my dad telling me in school ki Pooja, tu 10-12 paintings bana aur exhibition kar. I acted on his words 16 years later and I’m displaying 2 paintings instead of the 12 he asked. This is a painting of Mt Trishul as visible from Bendni Bugyal. For all those who know me well, mountains will always remain my first love. Painting them makes me feel closer to them. Mountains are truly a stairway to heaven.
